Treat Politicians as you like to be treated

Threats to kill don’t fix bad government

The media is reporting numerous threats against the lives of Australian politicians.

Millions of Aussies are justifiably angry about the many corrupt, incompetent,  self-interested politicians who have been, bit by bit, for the last quarter century, stuffing up the government of our country, states and territories, for which so many Aussies are now suffering.

FairGO

The traditional Australian Fair Go for housing, health services, education, safety, crime control , justice, emergency services, city and bush have been cast aside. Highest earners pay lowest taxes so services are substandard or non-existent. FairGO helps Aussie voters fix that.

Dangerous and ineffective

BUT Threats to harm, kill or  blackmail our elected MPs, are totally unacceptable as well as counter-productive. They scare off the really good potential election candidates. MPs are our representatives, not necessarily our leaders. They are elected to do our bidding. They mostly do if we handle things properly. WWJD

Ask and you will receive.
If you don’t ask there is no chance of receiving.
The solution lies with the voters who have enormous influence, even individually. Votergrams, Voters Network and Voterlobby all enable individual Aussies to have their good ideas adopted by government. These facilities also allow any Aussie to get help on many personal issues, from the most powerful people in the country.

Australian Intelligence versus Artificial Intelligence

Australian Intelligence   versus   Artificial Intelligence

Population Explosion kills good government

Thanks to politicians of many persuasions, the Australian population has exploded too fast for the politicians to govern or provide the services and infrastructure required. They are manifestly incapable of delivering the services required by Australians and immigrants alike.

They are therefore flat-out relegating government to AI computer bots who brook no argument and to whom we are just numbers. It was hard to argue with public servants and bureaucrats, but AI is absolute stonewalling. First RoboDebt, now Robo Agedcare.

RoboRulers

Politicians have delegated engagement with the people who elect and pay them, to Artificially “Intelligent” RoboRulers. Lessons not learned with Robodebt are now back with RoboAgedCare . It mirrors “Simon” the computer in the ABC series “Capture”. What Simon says goes, because it is thought to have taken into account all the possibilities. People’s opinions don’t count!

Take back the initiative

Given that parliamentary careers depend on our votes, lets take back the initiative before it is too late. The FairGO Australian Voters Network – voters.au for short, has developed excellent pathways for P2P (People to Parliament) engagement. By us people out here in the community of this wide brown land working with our elected parliaments, we can make a huge difference to what is done, by-passing the AI threat. Because Parliament consists of hundreds of real live individuals, we need to communicate with each of them. That is what our Votergrams have made easy for 4 decades, quietly and unobtrusively. No party favourites!

Power corrupts when concentrated in one or a few people. Diversified it makes democracy flourish for the creation of a fairer society.

Help Plan Australia

We invite you to Help Plan Australia. Join or form our HPA Teams to review the topics/s that interest you most. Identify the challenges; discover the underlying causes; decide on the solutions. Then use the Votergrams to have those solutions adopted by parliament. By working with our parliaments we will produce SIS,  Super Intelligent Solutions.

DIY Lobbying

DIY Lobbying

Government gone astray

Governments can be misguided, incompetent, negligent, inefficient or corrupt. Such governments can easily go astray. Astray Australia’s has certainly gone, led by politicians of all parties and factions! Look at today’s problems!

Government depends  more than we thought, on external direction and feedback from the general public. Currently that direction comes primarily from the ultra-rich and powerful, big business corporate executives, political donors and highly paid professional lobbyists. These people influence government for their own benefit and often to the detriment of the broad Australian community.

Ask and you will receive

A large proportion of the Australian community however, is not going so well at all. It is  homeless, battling unaffordable debt, suffering from the rising cost of living, low paid, unemployed or under-employed and lacks a range of vital quality government services. These Aussies are deprived of equal opportunities to get ahead including top quality education to tertiary level, good satisfying and well-paid careers and the security for old age of home ownership can bring.

There is no good reason for the massive wealth divide that exists in Australia today. It is up to those who are feeling deprived, to use DIY lobbying to have government fix it. Going to one local MP or protesting in the streets is a very blunt instrument. A Votergram on the other hand will usually produce a result.

Only those who miss out on what others enjoy have the motive to drive the changes required to enhance their lives. There are plenty of caring Australians who will help them. But they must make the first move to show that they care enough themselves. If they don’t care, others won’t care. If they care others will. With DIY lobbying the poorest Aussie can exercise every bit as much power as the rich and famous.

Too big for politicians alone

The Peter Principle applied to politics, has caused untold chaos as the Australian population size has grown from 18 million in 2000 to 28 million now. It has moved well beyond the ability of our MPs and political parties,  bureaucrats and public servants, to manage effectively. We are leaving our children massive debts to repay with interest. Services are a shadow of what they used to be. People are dying because of it, killed by the system! The only sensible solution is for ALL concerned Australians to individually get in and help our elected politicians work out what to do. Let’s stop criticising them and help them “Plan Australia” properly, then put the plan into place. Voterlobby will help manage larger campaigns

Into a vacuum…

The Australian people have, unknowingly, elected then neglected their politicians. They thought they were electing leaders, like elected kings and queens, but no such people exist. They have elected people, often sight-unseen, to parliament to represent them. They have voted in people about whom they know almost nothing. But worse, they have not told those politicians what they would like done or explained why they would like it done. That failure has created a huge vacuum around every parliament. Into it the rich and powerful, the big Business bosses, donors and lobbyists have comfortably settled, to build their vast fortunes from the wealth that is really ours. They do it by getting governments to serve their interests first. Now the rest of us can do the same with DIY lobbying.

The people have the power

Now those Aussies who do care about life being fair have been provided with a very effective DIY Lobbying service,  Votergrams. With Votergrams, they can compete against the Big Business donors and professional lobbyists with even more powerful DIY lobbying. DIY lobbying is based on Christ’s parable of the sower and is extremely effective. It is good at moving metaphorical mountains.

When  we think about it that is a logical step. It is the members of the community who know best what they need. Unlike the big corporations, it is the Australian people in their role as voters who elect the politicians to represent them in parliament.  Parliament is the path to political power for the people. It is the only section of government over which they have any real power. Parliament gives them huge voting power and influence thanks to DIY lobbying.

By the people, for the people

Those words from the President Lincoln tell us that it needs to be “by” the people to be “for” the people, not by politicians alone. DIY Lobbying is powerful and influential because it is done by individual Australians who actually vote in elections. They can also go into marginal electorates and campaign to sway votes there, if ignored.

All over Australia DIY lobbyists are today recognising that if they want good government it is up to them to drive it.

Votergrams are there to make it easy. It does not matter whether it is housing or health care, schooling or social welfare, a personal issue or a national one.  DIY lobbying is the way to get it fixed in our Australian democracy and it has no party favourites, so MPs of any party can be happy to work with it.

How Christians can influence society

Christian Influence on Society

Today’s world is faced with many tragedies and challenges. For those Christians who live in genuine democracies, there is a good chance of influencing outcomes.

Under Royalty it is usually the rich who dominate and under dictators it is the ruthless and militarily strong who prevail. But in democracy it is those who speak up, who guide government thinking. It is true that in Australia it is the ultra rich big business corporate leaders who decide much of what is done by governments.

However that is only because they speak up personally and with highly paid professional lobbyists and with large political donations. Every Australian adult citizen gets 1 vote in each election. They outnumber many times the voting power of the Big Business Corporate leaders.

The need for ideas suggestions & solutions

It is a case of speaking up with good ideas, suggestion and solutions. The key is to get them to every Member of Parliament. For the past 40 years thousands of Australians have persuaded governments to do what those Aussies wanted. It did not matter whether it was personal like an urgent operation in hospital or public like keeping Hornsby Hospital open. Though the government wanted to close it down and sell the land,  Christians helped to  keep it open. They all used Votergrams, the unique political persuasion tool modelled exclusively on Christ’s teachings. Votergrams, developed by a Christian Australian family can be accessed at www.votergrams.au with email enquiries to team@votergrams.au.

This is the essence of Christian influence to help shape a Christian society. Please play your part by using this NFP service to influence your governments.

Christian Influence depends on what you do, not who you elect.

One Nation or one nation

We congratulate Pauline Hanson, Barnaby Joyce and their team at One Nation. The people have voted and chosen them. That is a great position  to be in and much to be admired. The One Nation victory sends a message that when the voters get annoyed enough they will stop voting for the parties they have always voted for and instead vote for someone promising something new. Pauline Hanson and One Nation have been around for a long time. Sometimes it takes something different to open the door to others. Australia today is very different to what it was  a quarter of a century ago and facing very different issues. Time will tell how the results deliver.

Fair Go!

It is hard to see Australia as “one nation” unless we come up with one particular virtue we all admire. For me it would be fairness for everyone. I like the national Anthem, Advance Australia Fair, because it seems to me that everyone deserves a fair go. That seems to fit well with what Jesus had to say. But in a democracy how we use our influence over our parliaments is more important than who we elect.

The Swagman

I also like the alternative which almost became our National Anthem,  Waltzing Matilda. The story of the poor, homeless man, as so many were, carrying his sleeping bag & tent equivalent on his back and walking the road of outback Australia, taking whatever work he could get and begging for food in return.

Generous Aussies

A 19 y.o went from Sydney to Roma by ship and train for a station job, but when he turned up at the pub there was a message saying the job had been taken. The publican’s wife said “That’s okay you can stay here and fix us up when you get a job.” How kind was that? He became a young drover on the Gulf of Carpentaria in Far North Queensland surviving on the fish he caught and a bit of beef. When he became ill, he was looked after at a bush hospital by a motherly matron. Aussie generosity is important.

Up came The Squatters

When the swagman outback needed food, he killed a sheep. But there would be no mercy from the squatters who had received the land for free and owned the sheep. They would have had him locked up or worse. He obviously feared the worst and decided suicide was his best option.

Party politics

A good few Aussie give politics a good clearance . but it is really “Party Politics” they don’t like. Politics is the art of managing the affairs of the people. The great thing about democracy is that unlike the Swagman, we have nothing to fear from democracy and everything to gain. We elect the Parliaments to represent us, to govern for our benefit. Why don’t they? Because most of us never  tell the parliament what we want of ask for it. We just complain about how bad it is.

How could they know?

How could our parliaments know what we 28 million Aussies want them to do? They cannot possibly do that. Nor can they please all 28 million of us on every topic  of interest. Nobody could. They will please those who tell them what they want in the right way and ask them to provide it. Aussies using Votergrams have proved that over and over again. That is the best the parliament can do.

Take up your cross..

Votergrams are designed to give every Australian the ability to influence what the parliament does. Big Business Bosses pay millions for that power. Aussie voters get it dirt cheap through Votergrams because the Votergram founders help cover the costs. If government is not delivering the goods, that is the fault of the votes who have not ordered those good from Parliament by Votergram. Votergrams are not just messages. They are specially researched and worded. They are designed to encourage the Members of Parliament do what  is wanted. Votergrams are the result of 40 years of experience, research and persuasion for individual Aussies and their advocacy organisations

Ask and you will receive

Advocates

Are you pestered for donations to have some advocates speak for you to solve problems with government policy and services?

To pay them salaries while they advocate for you to try to get government doing what they want?

Value for money

The best way to get government doing what you want and get value for money, is to use your power as a voter to become a Democracy Influencer  yourself on your topic right now.  Learn more from team@votergrams.au.

Then you will be able to persuade government to do what you want. That is as long as it is fair and reasonable.

Proof of the Pudding

They say proof of the pudding lies in the eating. So proof of your power over your democracy lies in giving it a go. But like everything, it needs to be done in the right way.

Votergrams have been turning Australians into Democracy Influencers for the past 40 years. Aussies have given it a try and seen that it works. Check out a small sample of the wins on the Votergram website.

Why haven’t you heard about them? Because they do their influencing in parliament, where it counts.

Voters determine political careers

Put your money to work where it will produce the best results. Voters determine political careers.

Your influence comes from the fact that their careers depend on your votes and your ability to influence other voters. MPs want to engage with voters. It is voters who let the system down. It is a lot easier for those interested out of 17 million voters to contact a few hundred MPs than for a few hundred MPs to contact 17 million voters. Remember that faith can move metaphorical mountains.

Political Power or the Right to Protest

Letter to the Editor

To answer the question of SMH State Political Editor Michael McGowan in the SMH of 23 April about Premier Minns’ anti-protest laws:

Protests don’t work well any more

No the government strategy is not working. The people aggressively protesting mostly achieve little or nothing. They alienate rather than persuade, politicians.  The protesters appeared to make the politicians look stupid and to unjustly blame them for the war in Palestine, the Bondi massacre and the Jewish reaction to it.

Asking is the way to guide government

If they seriously wished to influence the government they would have each invested $20 in a Votergram to politely and persistently without any fuss, persuade each of their 130 state politicians in the privacy of parliament, to do whatever it was that the protesters wanted. Asking nicely works well.

If people who disagree with government cannot put their views nicely and politely to all MPs, then cohesion disappears in a screaming match. Democracy is a voter-driven system of government and Votergrams have been around for 40 years. Modern technology has facilitated the quiet gentle political persuasion option. It is a far more effective way to persuade politicians. If the politicians ignore what the people want, voting them out by campaigning in marginals is more effective than protest.

Aussie Democracy is controlled by Voters

Voter Control

It is hard to understand why Australians would choose to protest https://www.smh.com.au/politics/nsw/minns-might-have-lost-in-court-but-he-knew-failed-protest-laws-were-a-winner-20260416-p5zoil.html instead of persuading their elected politicians to do what they want.  Since the introduction of Votergrams 40 years ago MPs in every parliament have shown themselves more than willing to consider and act upon good sensible, fair and just constructive suggestions from voters. Voters can absolutely control their governments because they absolutely control the careers of politicians! Parliament works for the people who drive it. But the silent majority can never be heard, by definition.

Confrontation should be the last resort

Protest is about confrontation. It makes politicians look stupid, negligent and incompetent. That is not the way to convince anyone to do anything. One can only imagine that protest is an ego trip for the protesters. It should be the last resort. The most effective form of confrontation is to go quietly into marginal electorates and campaign against the candidates of uncooperative governments.

Wasted Effort

In the case mentioned in today’s SMH, surely it would have been obvious to the protesters that the NSW Government could not do anything at all to stop the war in Palestine. Not only that but it set the government and many Australians against that cause, which many had up to then supported.

Futile protest

That the protesters went to court and beat the elected NSW government, delivers another message about social cohesion or the total lack of it. Those who elected that government and dislike violent protests were alienated. That might be the opposite of what the protesters wanted. They probably wanted support and that desire was probably well justified in the minds of many Aussies.

We are all entitled to ask

Jesus said “Ask and you will receive”. There is no reason why that would not work well with government. After all, if we don’t ask, how would our elected parliament know what we wanted. For 40 years now Australians have used Votergrams to ask their governments, via their elected parliaments to do what is wanted and needed. Mostly the government has done what was asked. There is no reason why it would not do what the voters want if they put forward a sensible and fair case.

Give Votergrams a go

Give Votergrams a go when you want it to tackle some topic of interest to you. It is  case of sowing good ideas into parliament and seeing the ideas grow just like the seeds in the parable.

Guiding Government and loving others

God did not say it would be easy

Was it Rick Warren who commented that “God did not say it would be easy”? Guiding government and loving others can be challenging. But it can be very rewarding.  Those of us seeking fair government in our democracy have learned that it is not easy. Sometimes we see our own and other countries’ elected representatives doing amazing things.

In Australia we have had a recent horrible event with 16 people murdered and we see politicians doing extraordinary things that are hard to explain. Mainly they seek to gain electoral advantage  by their responses. That might be okay, if they would only stop attacking each other.

Nobody raised an eyebrow that 1300 people were killed on the roads, usually due to deliberate decisions by someone.

Mentoring

When I set out in 1986 to find a way to have governments treating people equally, I did not feel very comfortable about it. My community had just been shafted by a division of government that just lied and cheated as I had not expected. I was at that time a very happy CPA with a  Chartered Accountancy practice. By that time I had also been a very active Christian for a quarter of a century. Not only did we find out how to get governments working for the people and the voters. We also learned that we could mentor voters in democracies anywhere with our strategies and techniques.

Bible Based Political Persuasion

Votergrams are based on Christ’s teachings. When you think about it that is not a bad basis for anything. Jesus set out to provide us some guidelines for life. It would seem that God has led us to develop an excellent system of government in democracy. The only challenge is that under the ruthless and self-serving domination of monarchs and dictators the people did not have any role. They just did what they were told. In democracy they must elect and guide their representatives. Voters need to tell them what they would like done and explain why.

Ask and you will receive

Many voters fantasise that democracy will automatically deliver all the good honest and fair things they want of it.  They forget that politicians have to represent millions of voters with quite different ideas on almost everything. So the politicians cannot possibly know what everybody wants, let alone do it.

Millions of people don’t say what they want. They are what we call the “silent majority”. By definition and their own choice, they can never be heard.

Of the rest of the population, many still think that the politicians will automatically understand what they want. How could politicians possibly know what millions of people want? Without the people telling them?? No way!!

So the first step in guiding government is to ask the politicians to do what you want and explain why they should do it.

Good Samaritan

We do not need to think only of ourselves. Christians do not need to say “I will not spend my money on improving the lives of others.” When we see a community need such as the road toll or cigarette smoke from the person next to passengers on a flight across the world, we can stop it. But we need to spend some of our God-given money. Our in-house Votergram campaign cut the road toll in Australia by 70% over 15 years. So far it has saved 64,000 lives. It probably cost us $100,000. The brief campaign that wanted smoking banned first on Australian airlines cost about $1,000.  Then 2 years later the USA followed suit. Now airlines around the world have banned smoking. This has saved huge health suffering and costs.

Do to others as you would like others to do to you

Politicians are perhaps the most criticised people in the world. They have a thoroughly thankless task. For all the abuse they cop, they are very rarely thanked for all the good things they do. MPs come up with marvellous policies. In parliament they devise services for governments to provide. Politicians have facilities and infrastructure built for our use.

At Votergrams we always make a point of passing the credit to our politicians when they achieve what has been sought. We ask our clients to thank them profusely. We do not seek credit for ourselves – “man’s empty praise”. The downside of that is that we miss out on valuable PR and promotion. That means we miss the opportunity to spread the word that, of course democracy can be guided by and for the people. We need Votergram users and Voters Network members to do that for us.

Parable of the sower

What Votergrams do is sow ideas, suggestions, solutions and support into the minds of each MP in the parliament. That is just as Christ’s parable of the sower. And all the seeds that people sow by Votergram into the fertile minds of their elected representatives, do exactly what the seeds in Christ’s parable do. Many produce magnificent results.

Make peace with the other side of the argument

The most well-known form of political influence is the public protest. People gather in  street, in front of Parliament house or in a park. They chant abuse as a mob over and over along the lines of “What do we want”  xxx. When do we want it ?” “Now!!”. All the time speakers berate the politicians or bureaucrats for what they have done. The impact of this is to instantly make enemies of the very politicians capable of fixing the problem. Christ said “Go and make peace with your brother” and “settle your dispute with the other side before you go to court”.

Surely the protesters want the politicians onside not offside. Confrontation makes the politicians work hard to justify what they have already done to cause the anger. So the action makes it unlikely that they will do what is wanted. It can achieve the opposite of what was wanted.

A far more Christ-like policy would be for each of those protesters to explain by Votergram, what they want and why. They would do that in a carefully orchestrated way. Senders would reach each and every MP in a friendly way. Each unique brief message would come from one protester. Over a time they would paint a mural of ideas that would win over most politicians. The messages would come from a wide range of electorates carrying an electoral message as well as the one on topic. That is how to win friends and influence governments.

Take up your cross

It is not easy. It does take time, research and effort, as well as a little money, to change minds. Becoming a democracy influencer is a learning process for there are many unknown facets to democracy. Strategies, failures, experiences all combine to build solid professional skills. For those who commit to Guiding Government for the betterment of society, it is a cross to carry. But that is what Christianity is about. Isn’t it?

With faith you can move mountains

I have never thought that Jesus was interested in relocating mountains. I think He was speaking of metaphorical mountains. He said it was faith in our ability to do it, that did  it or faith that God would help us. Faith, except  for “blind-faith”, is usually built on experience.  One prayer is answered and others follow. Then one has faith in prayer. A top tennis player could hit an ace that I could not have faith that I would hit.  What our wins have taught me is that using Votergrams is 90% successful. I also see that those who have faith in their ability to win, almost always do.

Voters stopped a Bill of Rights which they felt would remove some of their rights. They dumped an ID card  in an era when privacy was key. Motorists cut the road toll when everyone I asked for help from, said it could not be done. A  church group beat the Tobacco lobby on the smoking on airliners. Womans’ Temperance Union beat the alcohol industry on pregnancy warnings about Foetal Alcohol Syndrome. A pharmacist got generic medicines dispensed. The pharmacy association got $1.5 billion a year in government subsidies. One man got Victims Impact statements introduced into courts.

All of those people moved metaphorical mountains by Votergram.

Christianity is not just about pie in the sky when we die. It is about shaping society on Earth today in your home town and mine. That is why Jesus said that He had come so that people could live life to the full. You can do your bit by influencing your democratic government. Our mentoring service is mostly available to those who need it.

Stop abuse of Australian children in Child Care

Stop abuse of Australian children

The “somebody” who has to act is YOU! The time is right now!

Nobody else cares about your children or grandchildren like you do. Don’t wait until it’s too late. Jesus taught us to love our children, but some people see them as a means to their own sexual satisfaction.

That must stop. But it will not unless you get involved. Democracy is government “for the people” “by the people”, not by politicians or the media, by you!

Votergrams

Have your say the Votergram way on this vital issue. Tell each and every Member of Parliament what you want done NOW! Christ said “Ask and you will receive”. If you don’t ask there is not much chance of receiving. Votergrams help you knock on the door of each and every Member of parliament, 226 federal and about 100 in most states. That is power. It comes from the combined impact of your voice and your vote plus your power to influence the votes of others. Votergrams have helped voters move metaphorical mountains for nearly 40 years.

Politicians

They represent you and control government which controls child care. Politicians act on what voters ask them to act on. If you don’t tell them they will not know what you want. Don’t rely on the media alone.

Australian politicians, Members of Parliament, are extremely helpful when approached in the right way at the right time. The Honour Roll on the Votergrams website shows you how good they are. We are often misled by the daily media criticism of them designed to attract readers.

Profit-oriented child care operators will be telling politicians that it is all working well except for minor incidents. These are not minor incidents. They damage children’s lives!!

Votergrams have helped Australians to persuasively engage with their elected parliamentarians all over Australia on a multitude of issues for nearly 40 years. That is what makes democracy work.

Votergrams are the most effective way of parents influencing government.
